Our response to COVID 19 (coronavirus)

March 14, 2020
Dear Friends,
In my 20 years at Dimitri House, this is a letter I never thought I would have to write. As our community and nation face the Covid-19 health crisis, the clients we serve are facing even greater challenges. In the last few days, our Emergency Food Cupboard program has seen a significant increase in demand, we have fielded more calls and requests for emergency food appointments than I have ever seen. Today’s announcement closing Monroe county schools indefinitely will add to family’s food deficits. Children who rely on school breakfast and lunch programs will be stretching already thin budgets.
Your donation is key part of what we do every day and will help our community through this crisis
As one Rochester’s oldest food organizations, we must be prepared to provide emergency food to vulnerable Rochesterians who may be unable to work, go to school or who may quarantined.
This is where YOU come in! Your generous gift today will help Dimitri House provide groceries and keep meals on the table for our neighbors in need. Every single dollar you donate directly supports our programs. YOU can help us keep the cupboards full, keep school children fed, keep our seniors from worrying about where their next meal will come from.
As always, thank you for all you do for Dimitri House.
Sincerely,
Amy Edwards Board Chairperson
